How often will you email me?
Only when there is news worth telling you, such as an NJC pay offer or award, back pay dates, a pension increase or a rule change. There is no fixed schedule, and some months there may be nothing.
Is it free?
Yes. The updates are free. Some emails mention our calculators and paid tools where they are relevant, but you never have to buy anything to stay on the list.
Where do the facts come from?
From official sources: NJC circulars and the Grey Book for pay and conditions, the Firefighters' Pension Scheme rules and GOV.UK for pensions, HMRC for tax, and each fire and rescue service's own published documents. We link the source in every update.
Are you part of a fire service or the FBU?
No. Firefighter Pay is independent. We are not affiliated with any fire and rescue service, the NFCC, the LGA or any trade union. For advice on your own case, speak to your union representative or HR.
